MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MLGW has initiated rolling blackouts requiring all local power companies to drop between 5 and 10 percent of their total electrical load. Rolling blackouts are possible all day, according to MLGW.Service could be interrupted for 30 minutes, and customers may experience outages two to three times a day on average. All customers in MLGW'S territory could be affected. Water pumping stations, sewage treatment plans, hospitals and airports are excluded from these blackouts, said MLGW.
